Kamala Harris’ campaign team is editing headlines in her favor – without media knowledge: report

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign team has quietly edited news headlines in Google search results to make it seem like the mainstream news media is on her side, according to a report.

The changed headlines — all accompanied by a “Paid by Harris for President” banner — were changed without the media’s knowledge, Axios reported Tuesday.

Nearly a dozen publishers were involved in the fake headline campaign, including major companies such as The Guardian, Reuters, CBS News, The Associated Press and PBS.

Even smaller publications like North Dakota’s WDay Radio also saw its titles changed.

The ads include links to real articles from news outlets, but the headlines and descriptive text were edited to cast a supportive light on the 59-year-old presidential hopeful.

For example, an ad that ran alongside an article from The Guardian shows a headline that reads “VP Harris fights abortion bans – Harris defends reproductive freedom” and then includes supporting text under the headline that says, “VP Harris is a champion for reproductive freedom and will stop Trump’s abortion bans.”

Another link to an NPR story says, “Harris to lower health costs,” with supporting text saying, “Kamala Harris will lower the cost of affordable, high-quality health care,” Axios reported.

According to spokespeople from the affected companies, CNN, USA Today and NPR — all of which have published content flattering Harris in recent weeks — said they had no idea the companies were tied to the campaign.

“While we understand why an organization might want to align itself with the Guardian’s trusted brand, we must ensure that it is used appropriately and with our permission. We will be contacting Google for more information about this practice,” a Guardian spokesperson said.

Although deceptive, the tactic does not violate Google’s policies because the fake ads are prominently labeled as “sponsored” and “easily distinguishable from search results.”

The shocking report comes as Harris is hiding from the same press that is desperately trying to sideline her in her favor.

The former California attorney general has refused to do any major interviews or news appearances since winning the presidential nomination more than three weeks ago.

Harris’ campaign did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
